Addition note for Delegates: The Governance Document Review process is behind schedule - additional information will be released in the next Butterfly Bulletin. Chapters will have the opportunity to submit any edits after your CMP submission, but by a due date provided. 

 

Announcement: Nominations for National Elections

 

On behalf of the Elections Committee, we are excited to announce the list of candidates for consideration at Convention 2024!

  • National Vice President for Intake and Expansion - Alejandra M O'Connor

  • National Vice President for GAP Affairs - J'Nel Stephens-Dantzler

  • National Treasurer - Pamela Dent

  • Regional Director, Mid-Atlantic -Tiffany Worthen

  • Regional Director, Northeast - Elle Hagan

  • Regional Director, Southeast - Tayler Gooden & Ariana Olivero Rodriguez

  • Director of Communication - Ketzel Morales

  • NMGC Rep - Pamela Dent, Sarah Hein & Grace Madvodza

 

Per the National Elections Policy, we will hold a preliminary election for the NMGC Rep position online beginning July 22nd. The run-off between the two candidates with the most votes will take place during the election voting period at convention. 

 

Candidate Bids and Campaign Guidelines:

Candidate Bids including candidate speeches will be uploaded to ONE Hub on July 10th. At that time, an email will be sent to all delegates with a link to the forum for online discussion.
 
Candidates have been informed of the following guidelines for campaigning, all members are expected to follow these guidelines as well.
 
Campaign materials must be positive and focus on the candidate. Candidates are not permitted to spread negative images or other types of promotional materials about their opponents. To ensure these guidelines along with professionalism are upheld, the Elections Committee will review all campaign materials for approval before release.

Candidates may campaign using graphics and other media using the following:

  • Official Regional Facebook Pages:


All other Facebook and GroupMe pages are prohibited.

Other Guidelines:
Members may share, like, and repost on behalf of the candidate but are limited to the same platforms/pages/groups as the candidate.

Reminder: Current National Board members may not endorse, promote, repost, etc. as per the current elections policy.

Our expectation is that candidates will be treated with respect during the electionprocess.
 
Vacant Positions:
The following positions do not have candidates: National Vice President for Membership Affairs, Undergraduate Student Advocate, & Director of Philanthropy and Fundraising.
 
The Elections Committee will work with the National Board to formulate a timeline to fill these positions as efficiently as possible.

 

Email all nominations and questions about the elections process to the Elections Committee at [email protected].

 

Timeline:

  • 6/1-6/15 - Nominations open

  • nominees Informed- individually as they are nominated within 2 days

  • By 6/17 at midnight - accept nominations

  • 6/18 -candidates announced

  • 6/19- 7/7 Submit Bids & Speeches

  • 7/10 -Bids & Speeches Available on CE

  • 7/11 - 7/21 Candidate Q&A

  • 7/26 - Discussion/ Voting
